What is Tom Hardy personally like

He is very sweet and down to earth and easy to talk to. I met him once outside of a coffee shop. I didn't know who he was at the time. I just thought he was a good looking British guy. This was about 10 years ago…. .. around the time Inception was in the theaters (which I’ve never seen). My dog went up to him and started licking his hand. I apologized. He smiled, said he loves dogs, that she was beautiful, and he started petting her. I asked him if he had any pets which led to a conversation about animals, then small talk about work, Los Angeles, London, travel. Then my friend arrived and she told me who he was. He was lovely.

where he mentions that the tattoos he has are somewhat a "mask" to his very kind and soft personality. I don't know anyone who's had contact with him, and I wish I've had it myself, so I can't tell with much detail how he is as a person. I'm sure you can find this interview online somewhere, as I said, he's given it not too long ago.

I heard he is quite nice to his fans and has even helped the police catch a purse snatcher. He love dogs and visits nearby shelters to spend time with abandoned animals. He even has found them homes with his friends.

I am not saying that this was the best film by Tom Hardy, but one film that for me comes to mind is Locke, released in 2013, because of the way it is such an unusual little psychological drama of a film, although it is such a slight kind of film, consisting of a single extended scene (which U believe is set in real time) of man driving down the M1 and talking to various people all of the time on his car speakerphone.

Ton Hardy plays the sole character appearing in the film, Ivan Locke, who is a construction foreman who has been tasked with supervising the major construction operation of a large concrete pour in Birmingham (and we learn that this us the largest ever concrete pour in Europe on a non-nuclear, non-military site). However the evening before the pour us due to take place Locke learns that Bethan, a colleague from a job in Croydon with whom he had a one-night stand seven months before (which resulted in her becoming pregnant), has gone into premature labour. 

Despite his job responsibilities and although his wife and sons are eagerly awaiting his arrival home to watch an important football match, Locke decides to drive to London to be with Bethan during childbirth. Locke never forgave his father for abandoning him as a child, and he is determined not to make the same mistake, even though he has no relationship with nor any particular feelings for Bethan.
