Is Venom a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe MCU or not

Buying the cinematic rights to the Spider-man franchise when Marvel was down was a pretty fortunate move for Sony. The 5 Spider-man movies (original Sam Raimi trilogy and the two Amazing Spider-man movies) have grossed ~$4 bn on the box office. As per details, Sony has agreed to Tom Holland’s Spider-man being part of the MCU for 5 movies (Civil War, Homecoming, Homecoming 2, Infinity War, and Avengers 4). Marvel would serve as the creative heads for the 2 standalone movies (in terms of defining and presenting the character), but would have no financial play (movie is produced and distributed by Sony, as are any profits reaped). Conversely, Sony would have no play at all in the 3 Avengers movies (either creative or financial). He is very sweet and down to earth and easy to talk to. I met him once outside of a coffee shop. I didn't know who he was at the time. I just thought he was a good looking British guy. This was about 10 years ago…. .. around the time Inception was in the theaters (which I’ve never seen). My dog went up to him and started licking his hand. I apologized.
